Fabrication
Metal fabrication is the creation of metal structures by cutting, bending and assembling processes. It is a value-added process involving the creation of machines, parts, and structures from various raw materials.
“If the fabrication isn’t spot on, the weldments don’t matter.”
Welding
Welding is the process of joining two metals together by heating the metal surfaces up to their melting points. FSF welders are AWS-certified with metals such as mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel and applications such as structural.
MIG or Metal Inert Gas welding is an arc welding process that uses a continuous solid wire electrode and shielding gas for laying welds. GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) is also known as ‘wire welding’.
TIG (tungsten inert gas) or GTAW (Gas Tungsten arc welding) is a type of arc welding which produces the weld using a non-consumable tungsten electrode. Inert gases such as argon or helium are used to protect the area being welded from contamination and most, although not all, welding applications will require filler metal. A column of plasma, made up of highly ionized gas and metal vapors, conducts energy across the arc and is produced by a constant-current welding power supply.
STICK welding (Shielded metal arc welding) or “stick welding” is a form of welding that uses electricity to melt a metal filler rod/electrode/stick (electrode is the proper term) that melts both the metal joint and electrode all at once to fuse two pieces of metal together and fill the joint with filler metal at the same time.

Engineering
In order to produce a quality solution you need to have drawings that provide the scope overview including the specific part details. FSF provides professional services for engineering including creating new drawings, updating existing drawings, maintaining complex file libraries, and training your team to ensure efficiency.
create new drawings
Do you have an idea that needs legitimized? Whether your project is in the idea stage, bar napkin stage, or R&D stage FSF can help with creating drawings from the ground up.
update drawings
Are you working off of drawings that are very dated and are missing key information? Do they need completely re-engineered? Or, do they simply need updated in a different file format (e.g. CAD, 3D CAD)? FSF can help.
CAD FILE Management
Is your team challenged on how to properly maintain file libraries for the CAD files needed to work with your software systems? Do you have parts that apply to multiple builds? Is your CAD software giving you a “missing part” message too often? FSF can not only help you align and maintain your environment, but also provide training to your team to maximize efficiency.
